NITA SURI was born from designer Montse Freixes’ passion for art and architecture. Her deep admiration for the fashion industry drove her to create wearable pieces in the form of handbags. Nita Suri is a unique and innovative design concept with luxury leather, shapes, and colors to feed the senses, all while maintaining the highest level of elegance.

NITA SURI designer Montse Freixes was always fascinated by the magnificent architecture in her hometown of Barcelona. The work of the famed modernista artists, Gaudi, especially shaped Freixes’ work as a designer. She draws inspiration from his architectural masterpieces which shape the city, such as his iconic Sagrada Familia. Each NITA SURI bag features a geometric silhouette that has been perfectly designed to be both aesthetically beautiful and functional.

Montse has always worked in the fashion industry, and during her travels she ended up in Korea, where she finally decided to try her hand at designing herself. After years of study, she was able to transform her unique vision into sentimental pieces that she would send to her daughters. They fell in love with the handbags, luxuriating in every unique piece they received. Her daughters cherished the bags, delighting in how special and unique they made them feel, and decided they wanted to share the feeling with the world. NITA SURI was born out of superior craftsmanship and passion to share Montse’s intricate work with the world. The handbags are still made in limited quantities, to preserve the quality of Montse’s handwork.

Montse’s years of global travel, passionate curiosity, and creative mind all inform her work as a designer.  She has dedicated her life to observing the beauty of different cultures through art and translating them into wearable accessories.
